Priorities and funded actions

Objective

To generate data in the interest of reducing data gaps for the understanding of the correlation between the levels of nitrates/nitrites and N-nitrosamines present in food.

Priorities

  • Prority 1: To define food model products and a detailed project plan to asseess the relationship/correlation of nitrite/nitrate use, product formulation, cooking, processing and storage conditions on the formation of N-nitrosamines
  • Priority 2: To develop model products and sampling
  • Priority 3: To select, optimise and verify the analytical methods for the measurement of nitrates/nitrites/N-nitrosamines
  • Priority 4: To sample processing and analytical measurements
  • Priority 5: To deal with data analysis and reporting

Eligibility

  • Be a legal person
  • Be a public or private entity
  • Be on the list of competent organisations designated by the Member States (Click here)
  • Be a single applicant or a consortium
