Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

To support the growth of a European network of fact-checkers by enhancing linguistic coverage and strengthening the operational capacity of fact-checking in Europe
To continue supporting the national Safer Internet Centers (SICs)

Among financed actions

Establishment of a protection system for fact-checkers
Creation of a fact-check repository
Development of an emergency fact-checking response capacity
Support for third parties to strengthen the capacity of European fact-checkers
Maintaining an awareness center
Maintaining a helpline
Maintaining a hotline for children’s online safety

Eligibility

Be a public or private entity
Be established in one of the eligible countries:
- EU Member States (including overseas countries and territories)
- Non-EU states: listed EEA countries and countries associated to the Digital Europe Programme (Click here)
A consortium composed of
- - at least 3 entities, which complies different conditions (see details on the call document) must be constituted (DIGITAL-2025-BESTUSE-08-FACTCHECKERS)
  - at least 1 entities, which complies different conditions (see details on the call document) must be constituted (DIGITAL-2025-BESTUSE-08-NETWORKSICs)

Financement

Total budget of the call: 47 million euro
Budget per topic:
- DIGITAL-2025-BESTUSE-08-FACTCHECKERS – European Network of Fact-Checkers : 5 million euro
- DIGITAL-2025-BESTUSE-08-NETWORKSICs – Network of Safer Internet Centres (SICs) : 42 million euro
Amount of the grant:
- DIGITAL-2025-BESTUSE-08-FACTCHECKERS: betwen 350.000 and 5.000.000 euro
- DIGITAL-2025-BESTUSE-08-NETWORKSICs: between 300.000 and 700.000 euro
Funding rate:
- DIGITAL-2025-BESTUSE-08-FACTCHECKERS: 100% for the consortium and co-funding of 50% for the supported third
  party
- DIGITAL-2025-BESTUSE-08-NETWORKSICs: up to 50% of the total eligible costs
